I am trying to trouble shoot a pc for a friend and every program I open freezes, have to end task then end program 1 to 7 times and then it still will not shut down. When we try to shut down the pc it gives power meter not shutting down. We then have to hold in the button for 10 to 15 seconds to get it to just turn off. I have tried safe mode and it shuts down fine in there, went back into win and still same problem, tried ending all programs one at a time to try and locate the problem that way, no luck:no: I am now at a complete stand still with the problem beside reformatting and reinstalling everything, (this is a pc at a hospital very private doc's on it and cant loose any. Oh by the way also checked for viruse's with norton and McAffee...Any suggestions?? thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi justeno - welcome to CTH. It might help if we could have a look at your friends startups.

Go here (http://www.spywareinfo.com/files/startuplist.zip) and download and run Startup List. It will generate a log file. Copy the log and paste it back into this thread
