I have lost some fonts in W95. Times new roman is the only one I know of. Is there a way I can reset defaults or download the original fonts?
Thanks, John

Fonts are very available on the net. Any search engine will point you towards an abundance of freebies. Once you have downloaded a font, drag file into windows\fonts folder and you`re done.

Or you can click on start/find/ type in fonts and open the font folder then click on file/import font and have your cd in and get it off there.

First, I would like to thank those who gave me the tips on my font problem. My pc did not come with a W95 cd. Only a restore disk that wipes out everything and starts over from scratch. I think what has happened is, while unistalling a program or some software, I lost some other files, including some fonts. I don't know how to get them back, but I know they are still on my pc somewhere. Anyone know how to find lost files even when you don't know what they are?
Thanks for all your help, past present & future. John

Hi,
If those fonts are still on your computer you can find them by using the Windows Find function.
Click Start/Search/For Files or Folders (phrasing maybe different I'm using win2k here and haven't used win95 in a while http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/wink.gif )
and in the search box type in
*.ttf
That will search for all your True Type Fonts, and if they're still on your HDD that will find them.
Like the above posters mentioned it's fairly easy to find the fonts you need on the internet. If ya have any troubles finding them please let us know and we'll help ya find them http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif
