Hi, after formating and installing win98 I proceeded to install a patch that I thought it would upgrade it to win98SE. I had it from time back when I used this OS. (Now it is my old computer used for Email and such)
To make it short, it completely screwed the works. When I boot the computer it goes normally until it gets to where I input my password, and then a message jumps to tell me that : "your program is making an invalid dynamic link call to a DLL" and it goes to a blue screen with a fatal exception message at 0167:BFF930B7.

I can't use safe mode because it stops with the same message.
I tried to do a Scandisk /autofix, and it found some memory fault, fixed it, but I still have the same problem.

Is there a way to find and delete the offending program from within DOS? Any other solution?

I'll be grateful for your help

Hi, it islabelled:
sesp21a-en.exe
It should be from microsoft, but frankly, I'm not sure anymore. The question is, how to get my system back, or how to delete the patch or the installed files when I can't even get to safe mode?
