Are those actually commonplace in Germany, does anyone know? It does seem a great alternative to ugly parking lots, I agree with Amiduffer. But....if you have to be in the car when it goes up and slides into the spot, forget it, ha!

Yes Harrie, the old "Carousel der gerparking" are common as muck. My colleague Rrrrrrrrrrrrolf has one in his back garden.

No, not really, they are highly specialised units and (I am lead to believe), exist in only three places as examples of how to step forwards with technology - or "Vorsprung durch technik" as Audi would have it.
