Media Player Question

Is it okay to download Windows Media Player 9 from the Windows Update website when you're running Windows ME? Or is it only for XP? Because I had previously downloaded Media Player 8 and it totally screwed me up. I have 7 back now. Is Media Player 9 made to run with ME? I see it is on the update site, that is why I am wondering. Thanks in advance for your help.

WMP 9 should work fine on WinME...the only thing is, if you do run into problems there's no uninstall for WMP 9. I have XP and WMP 9, but I don't use it for much. It has some new radio features I 'kinda' like, but thats about it. The only thing I really use it for is playing videos and such, I don't much like any of the other features. If I want to burn a cd or listen to the music, I'll use MMjukebox (or my home stereo). Anyway, I would just stay with the version you have unless you really enjoy it and want to see the new things they've added. That's just my opinion ofcourse, but if you like it, then sure why not.

Just make sure to create a restore point before installation just incase.
