Win 2k

We went through this a few months ago. Although there were no real problems, it took hours longer than we had planned on. Estimate your down time and double it. A book that I purchased - "Windows 2000 Server" by Mark Minasi has been absolutly invaluable. Read the "Planning and Preparation" chapter carefully. Good luck.

I'm not sure what you mean by a small business server - we have 4 servers that had NT 4.0 installed. We wiped them all out and installed Windows 2000 server on each of them. However, there are so many patches and updates that have to be installed, some of them separately, and most requiring a reboot, that just the patch installation took hours. Then of course, some of the client PCs couldn't find the domain until we rebooted them 2 or 3 times. Then adding the users and the applications ..... I had to take time off to recuperate. But it's been worth it - the network has been very stable since then.
