Can I still uninstall...without an uninstaller?
I was having problem with Windows Media Player 9 trying to play this video file...it would play the sound but not the video. I got the common error, "error downloading codec."
The codec listed in the error details that I needed was div3. So I did some 'poor' searching on google (cause I'm very tired at the moment) looking for this codec and came across some website saying that this program "divx322" would enable WPA to play div3's (I later found out it looks like it's for a totally different program and not WMP, for Kristal Studio's or something), so I said what the heck...downloaded and installed this thing. Anyway, I still can't play div3's and now I've got this program on my computer that doesn't have an uninstall. I was looking for an easy fix...I usually do some good researching before downloading anything...but...I did it anyway. To make a long story short, is there anyway that I can uninstall this? In the DivX_3.22 folder in program files, there's a DivX setup information log...is there a way to use this log to delete this thing and undo all of the registry entries it made (...and not one by one)? BTW- System restore is off and there is no listing for this program in Add/Remove. Note: I've also downloaded this program called "uninstaller 2.0" just to make sure that in the future I don't do this agin...too little to late huh? Any help would be greatly appreciated, -Crash- XP Home Edition

Hi Crash - a couple of possible options. Go to Control Panel, open Sound and Audio Devices and click in the Hardware Tab. Select Video Codecs and click on Properties. Click on the Properties Tab, find your codec and then click on Remove (I'm not sure whether or not you might have to deregister the files first though). If that doesnt work, try reinstalling it again and this time use your uninstaller program to remove it.

Just wanted to post this for anyone else running into problems playing divX (any) in Windows Media Player 9.0, where when you try to play a video clip all you get is the sound but the file doesn't play.
Go here and download the DivX player...and you really don't need the player that comes with it...unless you really just want it. Just install the program, after that WMP will play the files. (not to mention...there's an uninstall)
