Samsung Cd/Cd/rw Not Working.

I have a problem. My samsung cd rom is not working. I took it out form one of my computer and put it in this one. It doesnt read the disk and when I try to write some onto a cd it doesnt work. The cpu that I have the rom installed on used to be a Win 98 but i Changed it before I installed Win XP.
It used to work fine.

Have to ask the obvious...Is it jumpered right? Slave or Master?

yes it is. It was working fine. Because I used this rom to install the new os.

Does it show up in Device Manager?

Right Click "My Computer">Properties>Hard Ware>Device Manager

Should be listed under DVD/CDROM Drives
