Hi after spending hours on the phone with my DSL provider- dealing with people that barely speak English and are very hard to understand -I stumbled across this board and I'm hoping that someone can help me?
My daughter is constantly using my phone and it's starting to drive me insane. I thought it would be a cool idea to set her up with a broadband phone connection IN HER OWN ROOM.
I have 2 computers in my home - First is in the family room and that one is hardwired to the DSL wireless modem/router. Then my daughter has her desktop connected to the internet with a USB wireless adapter.
I've noticed that when using a broadband phone service you have to plug the phone box adapter thing into your DSL router and then plug the phone into that. I don't want to do that because I don't want her phone in my family room and have to spend hrs listening to it ring :dizzy:
A few months ago when I first set my daughter's computer up for internet I ordered another wireless router. My internet provider told me that I could not run 2 wireless routers in the same home. Is that possible and how hard is it to set up? Or could I just purchase a router that is NOT a wireless router to use in her room?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Lisa
