I turned off the modem sounds at modem site, by turning volume to off. This did not fix it! Can you help, I win ME

if you use aol you need mute the modem from insid aol, to do that you have to go into expert setup , click the tab for devics ten goto the modem you are useing and select that, then goto the thing that says volume and put it to mute. thats it. I hope i helped

I don't have aol so that suggestion didn't help! Thanks for trying anyone else?
MY sis found this info on your website:
If you are in a situation, where you can't turn off the volume control, then you need to use a modem AT command.
To do this, click on the Advance Settings button. Then type the appropriate AT command for your modem.
This incidentally is where you put your Init string if you have one. Init strings I will discuss in a later article.
I checked into this but got lost as to where these commands actually go!
Can someone help?

Hi alanis
In the Control Panel open Modems.
Under the General tab htghlight your modem
and click properties.
In the next window select the Connection tab
and click the Advanced button.
Inter the AT command in the Extra settings field
and click OK.
