This Is Frustrating!!! :(

I'm now finding I can have IE6 open, it works fine for so long, but eventually it freezes!!!

This could be 20 minutes into using it, it could be an hour!!

I keeps me temp files/cache cleaned out very regularly (Mum taught me to be "regular"), and I don't think I've installed anything lately, that may cause this!!!

I have plenty of memory installed, so don't think that's an issue, and it's not like I go to a site that maybe has a large download time, that may cause this, it seems to happen wherever I go!!

Any help would be appreciated!

TIA

Dave.

Hi Dave - I'm not really sure why this is happening however it might be a good idea to download and run HijackThis. Dont make any changes, just paste the log back here. We will be able to see if any nasties have attached themselves to IE.

Hi Dave - well I would doubt that you want these:

O1 - Hosts: 216.239.39.101 desktop.kazaa.com
O1 - Hosts: 216.239.39.101 shop.kazaa.com

and you dont need this ActiveX control

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/05c0067e26d8f5...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Select the above and get HijackThis to fix them. Let us know if this helps.

Hi Dave - go to Start > Run and type:

sfc /scannow

and then click OK. NB - You might need your installation disk.

Hmmmmm, before doing your suggestion AnnMarie, I "THINK" I may have solved the problem!!!

I have been running a pop up stopper program, it was a freebie and last night I found it to "hang" at times, and thought this may be the problem. So I've uninstalled the program, and so far things are going great, I'll let ya know if the problem comes back!!!

Dave.
