I just got a new laptop, and I am having trouble viewing web pages. When one comes up the pictures are grainy and even the text is in some cases. An example is when I came to the cybertech page and the lady in the red sweater was all blury along with the text in the picture. Intregingly some adds come up just fine. Can anyone help? I would be much abbliged.

I use the newst internet explorer, and I had everything installed at best buy. As for my eyes, they have led me astray before, but I do not think they are the problem this time. The pictures are blurred before and after a few drinks.

in msie 7 click on tools, internet options, advanced and make sure that smart image dithering is selected.

I checked and I do have that selected. Any other ideas? By the way thank you for your time and suggestions.

you never did say if the problem is with other browsers. If so, then its a computer thing, if not its msie. Try firefox, opera or other browsers to help eliminate possibilities.

Unfortunately, I am not clear on all the terms you are using. I do know that when I put pictures on my computer from my camera, they are clear. The only place I run into trouble is on the internet.

Thanks for the idea. Western European doesn't work either though. It is strange how only certain items our affected on the page, such as you graphic that comes up on your posts.

Change the desktop resolution to the laptop monitor's native resolution. This will depend on the model of laptop, but will probably be either 1280x800 or 1680x1050.
Also, if you happen to be with AOL, try following these steps (http://www.house.gov/evans/web_support/aol_images.htm).
