When I insert the Intel Express Installer cd, I receive Error 7 out of memory and the cd won't launch.
Running xp pro - P4 2.0 - 256mbDDR

Using XP Pro should not have any issues with 512MB or larger amount of RAM. You might try finding the NIC on Intels site and download the apporopriate driver there.
Intel Driver Support (http://downloadfinder2.intel.com/scripts-df/Support_Intel.asp)
It could be an issue with the disc itself.
In doing a little digging around about this error, it seems that Visual Basic has something to do with it. Is this application running in the background?

Cody ,
I checked out your link, and adjusted the page fileing to a seperate partition with out windows and no help. so I put everything back...
Postcode ,
For some reason I cannot find any refferance to this cd at Intel'sweb site.
I checked support for the board(D845EBG2) and they only have the chipset updates and drivers that I updated about 1 1/2 months ago and the disk has worked until 2 days ago.
gonna try google searching again..
Any other Ideas ????

This might help you out.
D845EBG2 Desktop Board Driver Updates (http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bg2/bg2_drive.htm)

Well after a lenghty google search problem re-solved.
Gotta love google !!!!!
Note that if more than one CD or DVD drive exists on the
system, ALWAYS use the "original" CD/DVD drive for the
session's installations with the Express Installer CD.
Otherwise, an "Out of Memory" error message may appear.
For example, if three CD/DVD drives exist on a system (E:, F:,
and G:) and you place the Express Installer CD into the G:
drive, then always use G: for the Express Installer CD session
for driver/application install activities.
I changed the drive letters when I formatted the unallocated space on the hard drive. D to E and E to F did not think that would cause the error OUT OF MEMORY.....
Anyone know what else I might be encountering from this ????
Should I do a fresh install with the partitioning allready complete?

Did you try to get the drivers from that link yet? If that dosen't work, what about using the drive that is currently associated with the drive letter that was used to originally install the drivers from the CD?

The original drive letter was D. when I did the new partion I assigned D to that and incremented the other letters..
I though you could not assign a drive letter to hardware before a phisycal drive.
Can I just change them back?

At this point i have got to say i dont, if i had the machine in front of me i would clean it up good and keep trying different things till something come up that would shine a little light on it,always note what you change so you can go back. And remember if it ant burning it ant broke. lots of luck to you >cody
