Can't connect to broadband

My computer was recently wiped due to a virus, therefore I had to redownload my modem's drivers (using a different computer) and set up a new broadband connection. However, whenever I try to make a new connection and fill in the details for broadband there is no option for me to connect through my modem, only through PPPoE.

Any idea what I should do? My modem is an external USB modem (an Alcatel Speedtouch USB).

Is it cable or DSL?
DSL uses PPPoE.

Cable. When I go to Network Connections and right click > Properties on my broadband connection, it doesn't give me the option of connecting through my modem (only through PPPoE which I don't have). The drivers and modem seem to be installed, so I don't understand why it doesn't work.
