Alright, I'd like to start by saying that I recently reformatted my computer and that before I did so, my internet was working perfectly fine. Now, I have a Gateway GT5082 computer (The only thing I changed in it was the graphics card which I'll list later). After reformatting, I reinstalled the drivers from the Gateway website, and I noticed that my internet was going awfully slow.
After several phone calls to my ISP, Bell Sympatico (High Speed DSL), they've narrowed the problem down to my network card. They advised that I either purchase a new driver or update my current one.
Now, I would probably be out buying a network card had the problem been present all throughout this computer's life. But it had not. It worked fine before the reformat.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers, running spyware and virus scans, calling technical support. Basically, I've done everything that I am aware of short of buying a new one.
My specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Processor 3800+
ATI RADEON X700 Graphics Card
NVIDEA nForce Networking Controller (I think this is the network card, though something seems off)
I'm also running Windows XP Proffesional with SP2 Installed.
If anything else is necessary, I'll provide it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Claw
