I need to get internet connection sharing enabled, but no matter what I do i cant get it to work. I've tried troubleshooters but they dont help. I go to network connections and right click my connection, go to the advanced tab and enable the connecion sharing options but I get an error saying "An error occurred while internet connection sharing was being enabled. The specified service does not exist as an installed service.". If i use the network setup wizard, it just says an error occurred on that too. I used a shared connection before on this pc, and had a few problems with it like this before but fixed them and it worked fine..I tried what I did before, and it still won't work. I'm not a pro on these things, so i don't know what else to do. I have windows XP, high speed cable, and I'm trying to connect to the Nintendo Wi-fi USB connector...any help would be appreciated.

If you go to services what is the state of the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing service?

The specified service does not exist as an installed service

Looks like the service was not installed during setup. That or Windows can't find it now. Are you trying to make that computer the host computer on an ICS network? It would be better to enable ICS if you have to do it on a wired adapter. However it would be much less trouble to get a nice wireless router.

... and as bAdWaYz said, go with a wireless router. These days even Microsoft has backed off ICS. When they first introduced it they pushed it as the best and most secure way to share internet connections. Now they are basically saying, use it if you don't have another choice.
