Where would be the best place to place the router if...

The router is in the front room next to the TV were the xbox360 is. So the 360 has xbox live, through the ethernet cable.. there is a phone line going through the wall from the front room (router) to the hallway where the fone box is.

Im above the front room in my bedroom, were my pc is and am using a belkin wireless USB adaptor.

I keep gettin bad signal strengh lately and gettin DC and C every like 10mins. Ive changed the position of the router many times..

you are getting DCed cause there is a whole floor standing between the router and your wireless adaptor

The floor really shouldn't be a big issue. I'd try to get the router away from the TV and Xbox as muchas is practical. More important is the wireless adapter. Where is it plugged in (top, back)? The back is usually the worst due to all the other wiring around there.

Are there wireless networks visible? How about bluetooth devices?

Move the adapter to the front or top and see if that helps. You can also try switching wireless channels (by increments of 5).
