ok so im setting up a small network so i can use my 360 on live in the other room. so far ive found a nice D-Link 6 port hub for ethernet. What im going to do is run the cable from the outside of my house and use the hole in my room that my last cable provider used to run it in and to my 360. I was checking out some ethernet cables that will reach (im thinking ill need about 50-75 feet) and i came across some that say Cat5 and Cat6 and so on.

Which do i use for my connection?

Will the ethernet wires cause problems even though the ends are not exposed to the weather conditions? (my house has an overhang where i plan to run it)

If yes to above, is there some type of rubber tube i can place it through?

I'd go wireless if i could afford it, but this seems about 150$ cheaper.

ok i do this alot...

Cat 5 cables will do, get cat 6 for very long distances(50m+ maybe) and/or Gigabit Ethernet
i have a 30m going from my room to the Modem which the Cable installer guys didnt want to extend the coaxial cable to my room...

they sell plastic tubes, PVC piping you can get the plumbing ones or the Electrical ones, the only difference is the electrical ones are more expensive, but looks better
just thread the wire through the tube and secure the tube to the wall, you can use corner joints if needed, then thread the two ends of the cable through the holes in the wall, connect up the devices and you re done
