Evidence is mounting: the next solar cycle is going to be a big one. Solar cycle 24, due to peak in 2010 or 2011 "looks like its going to be one of the most intense cycles since record-keeping began almost 400 years ago," says solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center. He and colleague Robert Wilson presented this conclusion last week at the American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco. [more]We havent had a skip cycle like we had in the 80s since then!!!!
Perhaps this is another "80s skip cycle" coming up :)
Your needle pinned on 11meters,channels 2-5 skipping in every morning,etc....
Ah the 80s!!!!!!

Makes one remember that plant earth exists in a very volatile universe. Mankind will be snuffed out eventually by an asteroid, or comet strike or sucked into a black hole or burned in a solar storm. It's just a matter of time. :)

since the world is going to end in 2012 (according to the mayan calendar) why worry about solar flares :dizzy:

Chaser3000, 120 chanel with sideband, built-in 10w booster. It's about a foot thick in dust and old motorbike oil in the bottom of a stack n store in the garage!
Should dig it out and SWR a big stick up on the roof - sounds like it's time to play! If you hear "Byron the South American Half-Goat" CQing, clear the airwaves and lock up your daughters ;)
(that was my mucking about handle - real one was Big Roller).
