I have been trying to reinstall windows me and everytime I reach a 65% + point I get the following message: suwin has caused an error in verx.dll
Please advise how to solve this proble. Thanks. Best regards. pking4

Hi pking4, Do you have IE6 and Windows Media Player 9 installed?

are you doing a clean install or useing recovery disk

Thanks for replying. I have IE 5.5 and WMP 7.1. I am not doing a clean install, just loading me on top of what is already there.

I am not a big fan of installing over a OS, i just dont have a lot of luck with it,there are others on this forum that do, and i suppose they come out alright,hope some of them will come on and help you,i dont want to get you to a place you are not familure with.
I would suggest you stay with IE 5.5 and WMP 7.1., as the 9x kernel does not like the latest and the greatest >cody

Boot from a startup floppy disk, navigate to the C:\Windows\System directory and rename the file wmploc.dll to wmploc.old
Once you have renamed the file, see if you can then complete the reinstall of Windows.
