Wireless Problems

Hi, I am having problems with the speed of my wireless connection. When I first connect to my wireless network it says that I have full signal stregnth and 54.0 Mbps speed. After approximately 30 seconds it drops to 48.0 Mbps then eventually to 24.0 Mbps. The signal stregnth stays the same. How do I keep a constant 54.0 Mbps connection speed.

does it drop when right next to the wireless router?

Yes... I will be sitting right next to it and it will do the same thing. And it even disconnect every 5 minutes when I am right next to it
