No Connections in Connection Manager
Ok, This has been bothering me for the past few days. I've been helping a friend with his computer, but I've yet been able to properly configure the network connections on the computer, they simply arn't listed in the Network Connections menu. The LAN ports are listed in Device Manager, are working, not disabled, and when plugged into the cable modem, it accepts the DHCP and DNS settings from it happily. Now, for surfing the internet, its not a problem, that just goes, but we're trying to set up internet connection sharing with the two on board LAN ports on his computer (Its a temporary LAN we're setting up, so we don't want a router).
So far, I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them, updating the BIOS, Updating windows, multiple restarts. Nothing we have done has gotten the LAN connection to appear in Network Connections so we can set it up. His computer is an AMD type processor with a NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI chip set, and 2 NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller for on board LAN, running Windows XP SP2. Any helpful ideas would be much appreciated. |

When you look in device manager do you see the network adapter listed? If so you can do some setup from there. As for why its not showing up under network connections it could be many things. Is it an admin account would be my first question.
