Smart no. Very well trained yes.
What you don't see is the trainer giving cues to the bird with the hand that isn't holding the mike and or facial/eye movements.
I know what I speak of here cause I had a summer job when I was in high school with Bush Gardens/Budwiser helping the trainers with the birds. Helping meaning I was cleaning up alot of bird sh!t. I was amazed what tricks a bird will do for a seed treat.

Actually no, most of us caught on right away, but there were these 2 guys one from New Jersey and the other from Arkansas that kept picking the crap up with their hands.
They just couldn't master using the scoop.:rotflmao:
