I'm using BitTorrent on a PC using a wireless connection, and having some trouble.

I've opened up the specified ports (6881-6889), and turned off the firewalls of both PC's, but BitTorrent still says "Online, maybe firewall", and I get low, fluctuating speeds (1-30 kbs), even though the torrent says it has plenty of seeds (70+)

Any help with this?

I don't know much about this but port forwarding correctly helped me with utorrent.

plus as torrents can be used illegally aswell as legally, generally ISP (here in UK) tend to now block the ports that you mentioned. but if you change the port in the application to any random number like 15156, and forward that port on your router, then it should pick up speed.

Which client are you using for your torrents, u-torrent is one of the many recommended.
