Hello all,
I have installed Opera 5. When I open the browser, it's not long untill I get a pop-up window saying this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. I click details and it says this. Opera caused a general protection fault in module S3-2.drv at 0001:00011946. I can't stay on opera long enough to go to their help site. Can you help me?
Thanks, John

Hi John, thanks for keeping W95 forum alive :)
I would suggest reinstalling your video card drivers will correct this issue.

Hello,
I reinstalled the drivers but that didn't help. Netscape 4.7, 6.1 and IE5.5 all seem to work just fine. Opera is the only one that does this. Any other ideas?
Thanks, John

John,

Uninstall Opera, check to make sure all is well with your video drivers. Then reinstall Opera.

Are you using a non-java version ?

Hi,
My video drivers check out ok, but to run opera I had to slow acceleration down to under 50%. Opera ran fine but some of my video games didn't run at all. I have updated the driver, but I geuss it's not enough to handle everything. I'm not giving up on W-95 or my old pc. Any tips would be welcome.
Thanks, John p.s. I was using java versionof Opera.
