fdisk..........
i'm trying to reformat this computer.... my startup disk doesn't do anything unless i go to start/run and get to the command prompt. i do the first step... then the second, "delete partition or dos drive" then i go to the next step "delete logical dos drive in extended dos partition" but when i hit enter it tells me there isn't one there to delete... i can't figure out why i'm getting all the oe error messages and numerus other error messages and why it boots up when it wants to. i've gone by posts in the tutorials but haven't gotten anywhere so if anyone can help me with a way i can wipe my drive clean so i can install another OS i'de apprecieate it...

First, Check to see if your machine is set to boot from A drive first.
When the machine is booting, look at the bottom of the screen, It will tell you which key to hit to enter setup. Enter the setup and set the boot sequence to A, CD-Rom, C. Save the change and exit setup. If the boot sequence is correct, How are you booting with the floppy? You must shut down, insert your boot floppy, then boot the machine. |
