I was listening to a local radio show and they were fooling around with a web site that you type in something, and it says it. Imagine the possibilitys of that! ;) Your help is apreciated.

There's an extension for FF call Speak It that does Text To Speech using MS's TTS engine. But, the way most people write around here don't expect to read the posts too well. ;^)

I've seen this mentioned before but where do you enter the sentences to be made into speech?

On Windows XP, it's Control Panel->Speech->Text To Speech. Select a voice, enter text in the text box, then click Preview Voice.

I only have Microsoft Sam on mine - or is it Stephen Hawking?

Sam comes with a default XP install, and I think it's Office that comes with LH Michael and LH Michelle. You can get others, but you usually have to pay for them. Microsoft Mary and Microsoft Mike are freely available, so you can Google them for a legal download (otherwise you have to download the whole Speech SDK). The Speech engine is also used for a few different apps - mostly for reading Office documents, but an Accessibility option allows speaking of dialog boxes and such. You can also use them in VBScript relatively easily (see attachment - change the extension to .vbs).
