Help!Audio

Hello, this is kind of an urgent problem. Recently i downloaded a bad driver for an ethernet card which totally pooched my computer ( bad virus ) I had to format without being able to go into windows to either make a boot disc or see what i needed to download again.

I remember it having somthing to do with soundmax integrated or somthing. I believe my sound card isnt being picked up. I have downloaded fresh diagnose to try to find it but with no avail... Now im sure the roland mpu is just a midi device, can someone please tell me how to locate my soundcard so that i may download drivers for it.

i have a roland mpu 401 as a midi playback, im not sure as to what that is can someone help im stumped over here

Try going to the "add new hardware wizard" and see what it is showing there when you prompt windows to search for devices.
