adultfriendfinder.com

Hello,

I was checking my cookies and found adultfriendfinder.com group of cookies. Does this mean my computer is infected with spyware? Or did someone that I share the computer with (I have several roommates) simply go to the site? I don't want to embarass anybody, but also want to get rid of any spyware, bc the computer is mine. I have a MAC and am not experienced with the background operations of computers. What's the best spyware removal software to use on a Mac? Basically, does the presence of this cookie mean someone went to the website (which I went to after finding the cookie to make sure it's a real website) and I should ignore it, or could it be from something else, like spyware?

Thanks!!!
-Nikki

Howdy:

A cookie simply means someone visited the site..

There's no such thing as spyware on the Mac. None.

MacScan is a product designed to get people who don't know any better to waste their money. It will NEVER find anything.

Fair enough - I just saw it in the Spyware Warrior Guide to spyware programs. I'll take your word for it though.

Sorry uripyores,

I didn't mean to imply that you were doing anything but trying to help. I really apologize if it came across otherwise.

My intention was to merely point out that MacScan is not an application anyone should be even bothering with since it does nothing. You can't find what doesn't exist.

If you're running Windows then you are susceptible to all it's spyware, viruses, and malware. But the Mac OS has no such issues. Running Mac OSX you are free of any malicious automatically installed applications.

Windows is Windows... always has those issues.

MacScan is a Mac OSX application designed to run under Mac OSX. Therefore it won't ever find any issues. You can't find what doesn't exist.
