all I got to say is its going to be too expensive for me. At this time I plan on using the beta version until it expires and then I may reconsider. But then plans do change.

I got a vista upgrade CD with my laptop which I plan to use on my desktop as well :)
sounds like piracy to me since its oem and can only be installed on your laptop.

Both Microsoft and and Apple have a tendency of overpricing thier products

I agree. Personally I can't wait until some one makes a super virus for a mac. I'd love to see the smile wiped off the arrogant faces of the were immune to everything mac user :D
No offence to mac users...

I still can't get that word "Premium" stuck in my head. Premium instead of Professional.
A few more word changes in Vista like Outlook is now Mail.

guess they had to change the names to make it look like they made changes. however, that mail is nothing like outlook express. IMO, its a waste.

Windows Vista Business is comparable to XP Pro...

Will this cause all XP products to go dirt cheap, or will they lower a few dollars and then just cease to exist in 12 months or so?

The prices have already dropped on Windows XP, I bought one (XP Pro) today for $129.00 CDN.
It's been $300.00 bucks here since it's release. I'm sure you can find it cheaper.
then just cease to exist in 12 months or so
Vista will have upgrades til 2012 then it goes like Windows 98 is now. Windows 95 is still going,
they never "cease to exist" they're like old soldiers (http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/treasures/trm048.html).
