how do I make a screen shot

How do I take a screenshot in windows xp to attach in a message? I know I will need to upload the screen shot to photobucket or another such host, but I just cant figure out how to take the shot..

Press the Print Screen (may be Prnt Scr) key. It's the top row of keys to the right of the F keys. That puts a copy of whatever is displayed on the monitor on the clipboard.

If you want to capture only the active Window and not everything on the screen, hold down one of the Alt keys while pressing the Print Screen key.

Then open a graphics program...Paint will work...and paste the image. Save it as a .jpg with whatever name you like.
