'ghost' image on desktop
After I get off of the internet there is now a 'ghost' image on my desktop. It is a 1 1/4" square with an image of the last page I looked at before getting off of the net. It remains on my desktop until I turn it off in the evening. Thanks for any help.

A couple of possibles, it could be that your graphics card drivers are out of date and there is an update that will fix it.
It could also be that some form of spyware/adware is putting a popup on your screen, download adaware from the downloads section of this site, which might help.

'ghost' image on desktop
Thank you for the helpful information. I tried your suggestions but still have the square on my desktop. I now notice that if I right click on the square it has a menu to open my IncrediMail secondary e-mail account. Could it be a glitch with the program that I downloaded? Thank you.

ah ok, not a glitch but an intentional part of incredimail's interface I guess, check the options within that to see if it has a way to get rid of it's shortcut button, can't find anything on their site though

I do have a shortcut icon on my desktop for the IncrediMail program but it is seperate from this square. The square just started appearing real recently and I've had the IncrediMail program for a year. Currently the square has a picture of my browser but yesterday it appeared as my solataire game. I assume it is related to the IncrediMail program since I can right click on it and access IncrediMail. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Hi Mel. This is a sure sign that things are not well with incredimail.
The symptoms you describe are that of a non-responding window. Incredimail is trying to do something in the background. Whatever window you bring into focus in front of it will leave an "after image" in the shape of the non-responding Incredimail window because Windows is unable to "draw" the contents of the actual window. Next time it does it, press CTRL+ALT+DEL and see if it reports any application "not responding" and report back.

Thank you for your help. You were correct, the square was due to the IncrediMail program. I have uninstalled that program (needed the extra space anyway) and am now just using my Outlook Express mail program. The reason I was using IncrediMail was because the 'blocked sender' option suddenly quit working on my Outlook Express 6.0. I can add someone to the list of blocked senders list but it only stays on the list until I close the program, then the next time I check my mail, the blocked senders list is empty. I don't need to get the list back but I would like to get the 'block sender' option working again. If anyone has any ideas about this problem, let me know. THANKS!
