Vista and Ipod

Itunes isn't compatable with Vista, well it runs installs and runs fine, but disables Aero while open. Anyway, my ipod wont work with it at all. It says it needs to run some sort of scan and fix so I click ok, but says its in use and to end any program using it. I close itunes and it still says this. In My Computer screen it appears and reappears continuously. Anyone have this problem?

Why not try and use Realplayer with ipod plugin (Downloadable through the software) its what i've used and is just as effective as iTunes in my experience, if not easier. just a thought
