Hi all: A friend of mine is giving me a 400mzh computer that needs a hard drive
With all the different typs (ide, eide sata.......) is there someplace I can got to learn all the differences?

Wikipedia, search for SATA, and IDE
that computer would use an IDE hard drive
it might use SCSI, but doubt it

That's an old PC and you may have problems getting a big drive to be detected.
You may have to use overlay software that you can get from the drive manufacturers site or buy a controller card.
This would be the best option as you will have no compatability problems and be able to use the newest drives.
