Unhappy Problems setting up ftp server due (I think) to adsl router

Okey dokey; for the last while i have been connecting to the net with my Binatone ADSL2000 Router/modem, absolutely no problems at all (til now). Problem is I've been trying to set up an FTP Server on the sole PC I have connected to it.

The problem (I'm told) has something to do with the (virtual?) IP address that the router assigns (192.168.1.13) and when i start-up the ftp server software (Bulletproof FTP Server 2.1.5 build 15) it displays this IP and not the actual IP that my ISP has assigned for that session. I have heard something about passive and no-passive modes and this may be a factor, but I am like a fish out of water on this one.

I can connect to the server with another pc if it is on the same network, but external connections do not work. If anyone has any idea about the settings for the Binatone modem and/or the FTP server S/W i would be eternally grateful, thanks
:grit:
