A call to Microsoft techsupport:
- Hi, 12 years ago I installed Windows 95. For all these years, there were no crash, no freeze, no bug. Am I doing something wrong?

Ага. Аншлаг Аншлаг. ;)
Вообще-то, не знаю происхождение анекдотов. Просто, если нравится, перевожу на английский.

I'm not from Microsoft but it seems as though, like me in the mid 90s, you were sold a PC which was described as "futureproof". How little did we know then!

It wouldn't surprise me if every development in the wonderful world of human technology has been pronounced as "the ultimate" of whatever it is.

For example, the guy who declared that traveling in any conveyance (at that time it was trains) moving faster than 20 mph would be fatal. He, whoever he was, said passengers would suffocate because the air would be moving by too fast for human lungs to grab it.

Humans will probably never be free of such "experts." There will always be other humans who believe them, too. ;)
