I get an alert:"MPlayer caused an invalid page fault in module DSOUND.DLL". It will play the mpgs that have no sound fine. Just the ones WITH sound I get that alert. Also, when the player is loading a mpg WITH sound it kills the whole sound on my PC!! and I have to restart PC to have sound again. Can you help? Thanx. :confused:

I'm guessing here, but try installing the program that you use to play MP's. Or, uninstall it...then reinstall it.

I think you'll find you problem is with DirectX.
try reinstalling Media Player but then reinstall whatever version of DX you use. (Preferably upgrade to at least DX7a)

I reinstalled the player, still won't play audio. I checked my PC and theres NO version of DirectX on it. Do I need it? Where can I get it? Is that the problem? The Media Player has been working(w/sound), just today Theres NO sound and that blue warning screen keeps coming up! Thanx for any/all help/effort.

Download DX8 here---> http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/
Media Player can be a real pain. Do you have the latest version of it?
Did you uninstall it, then reinstall it?
Try this: #1) Download DX8, save it to a place where you can find it easy. #2) Uninstall Media Player. #3) Restart the computer and load windows. #4) Install DirectX 8. #5) Restart the computer and load windows. #6) Install Media Player. #7) Cross your fingers.
