View Full Version : How to Make a Bootable DVD for data

I need to find a program or infomation on how to make a bootable DVD for the purpose of Ghosting images on to other computers of the same make and model.
This is not for the use of pirated or illegal software, NOT AT ALL, This is my job and we ghost or clone NEW computers when I get several at a time to improve quick delivery to my users.

This is not for use of pirated or illegal software, you did not ask first before yelling at me. This is to clone IBM laptops of the same model and make because CD's are only 650 meg and the images are too big to fit on them, so I want to do it from DVD. We now use Multicast to do this but I have 15 computers I need to do in 2 days with an immage of 4.3 gig witrh all the corporate licenced software.
Laptops with DVD can be booted according to the settings in bios.

Alan, Who hollared at you? I don't see anything posted here that points to that. If you are referring to Max's post then you are wrong. He was just saying your post was in the wrong location in the Forum and he moved it to this Forum where it is better suited.
So what is the problem?

I needed help and he assumed I was going to something illegal and typing in CAPS is " yelling" in e-mail. Well that is what I learned over the past 20 years.
I took offence to this statement
"If your problem involves the use of pirated or illegal software, don't bother to post a question....we CAN'T help you!"
The color red is also a no no. Any help with the question ?

Pase, like Degsy said. What is said by Max is his signature. It is a general message to Everyone that we cannot and will not help on Pirated software etc....
As for the color. It may be a no no to you, but it stands out and draws attention. So the color will remain as is.
As for your Question. Take a look at This google search (http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+make+a+bootable+DVD+&hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1) Looks like there are a few programs that may help you there.
You may also be able to use Nero. I'm not sure if there DVD offers that or not. I dont have a DVD writer so I can't test it or any other program for you. Will get one sometime...
