View Full Version : IE: Filter denied

For some reason I can't go to this website ( www.rr.com) any more. Every time I type or click on this web address, a page of message will come up. I do not have any firewall software set up in my home computer nor I know how to set any filter list. Any one know how I can remove the filter? Here is the message:

So sorry to say that It doesn't work.
I am using "Road Runner" cable to collect to internet - am I using proxy server?
Anyway, in my LAN settings none of the items is checked except the Bypass proxy server for local addresses is dim and checked.
To make sure they are uncheck, I checked and unchecked the boxes as instructed. But I still getting the same message page when going to that web site

Hi ksttse - try this address http://24.30.203.14/rdrun/ If you can connect, can you post your OS so we can tell you how to edit your Hosts file.

Hi AnnMarie, sorry! can't connect to your site address either. The same error message page pop up when click on the address you suggested. My machine is running Win98 ver.4.10.1998 and IE 5.5.

may be worth a call to the isp, sounds like their transparent proxy server may be denying access to local sites (local in the network sense)

I talked to the ISP support, all they tell me is to delete my tempoary internet files and cookies and reset the internet security. I done all they asked, and still the same. AnnMarie mentioned about editing the Host file, is that worth a try?

Hi ksttse - nope. If it were a host file problem, you would have been able to connect using the URL that I posted. Try this one:
