Back EVERYTHING up.

Insert the OSX CD, restart as directed, when you reach the installation options, choose Erase and install. If the option is available you might also try checking the "Retain users and network settings" box to keep all your user information and network settings.

Okay... if you've backed everything up. And you're sitting on the installer screen after rebooting. From the menu, choose Utilities (it might read "Tools", it's been a while since I installed) then Disk Utility. Select the hard drive on the left, then click the Partition tab on the right. From the drop down choose "1 Partition" Then click okay. It will ask if you are sure. THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR HARD DRIVE.

After the partitioning is done. choose File > Quit Disk Utility, then proceed with the OSX installation.
