For some reason, ever since I've installed Office 2000 Pro onto my laptop with Windows 2000 Pro, Outlook (which replaced Outlook Express) will not save my password to check my email (Express did).. Its not a big problem, just somewhat irritating because Outlook is the only program that will not save my password.

try deleting the mail account then adding it again.

I just dont understand it, I re-added the acct.. and it is doing the same thing. I've re-installed the entire program, and nothing. I also go to "Tools- Options- Mail Delivery- Accounts- Properties- Servers"... and at that screen is where I type my username and password and check the "save password" box, click "apply" and that should be it.. but it's not. As soon as i close Outlook and then re-open it and go to that same option, the password box is blank and the "save password" box is still checked!
As I said in the initial post.. its not a big problem, but it seems like something so simple to correct.

Depending on your setup...
Corporate Workgroup (MAPI) mail Registry fix (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=275465)
Internet Mail Only (IMAP) mail Service Pack fix (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=319238)

Give this (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;q235864) a look over and see if it applies. :)

I followed the directions word for word, and it got to a point where my system didnt do what it said it would do in the instructions. I went as far as I could and then restart my computer like it said, went to START\settings\control panel\Mail, clicked on the servers tab entered my password and checked save password\CLOSE. Opened Outlook and It asked anyway. This boggles my mind.

jtwice, Tweaker's link applied to Windows ME.
Did you follow the link at the bottom of that page to
Q259416 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;259416) for Win2000 or did you follow the instructions for WinME?

I have installed Plus! for MSN Messenger which allows you to check your POP e-mail. Now I can utilize this feature considering Outlook doesnt ask for a password EVERY time I open it, however, does this seem like a security issue?
Should I start a new thread with this topic?
