Does anybody know of a good free file conversion program for converting MIDI files to WAV files or MIDI files to MP3

You can record MIDI to WAV with Sound Recorder or Audacity, or one of hundreds of other tools. See here (http://www.indezine.com/products/sound/mid2wav.html). And of course WAVs can easily be encoded to MP3 using pretty much any audio tool (small list (http://lame.sourceforge.net/links.php#Windows)). Though unless you want to use a MIDI file in a program that will only accept a waveform, there's no reason to, it's certainly not going to sound any better, but will inflate the file size 100 fold.

Thanks very much I'll have a look at those. I need WAV or MP3 to burn to an Audio CD. My Audigy soundcard seems to have a WAV option but the recorded file doen't play!
