I keep getting this annoying pop up linked to my start up menu which is demanding £19.99 for an account I allegedly set up on a sex site which I haven't even been on (honest !!!) I am runnng on windows 2000 and am a bit of a novice ... can anyone help please

This might sound like spyware, Could you check for spyware traces on your system?
Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html) and Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition (http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html) and as last Trend Micro Anti-Spyware Online Scan (http://www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan/)
