vista apparently takes up 512MB of RAM on its own
game on windows XP

its just like the transition between win 98 to xp for gamers

Note: That list was made when Vista was in beta 2. Merely 7 months before Vista launched. I'm sure some of the bugs have been worked out and you can play lots and lots of games that you couldn't before.

Also some of them games just required a setting or two changed so you could play it. All good!

something to consider, if you were running the games with minimum ram in xp, you will need to increase your ram if you want to run it in vista - if the game will work in vista.

Your video card may also need to be upgrade for the very same reason.

first of all, unless you purchase oem software, 32 and 64 are on the same dvd. You do the compatibility thing as far as operating systems, for example, you can run the game in xp mode while in vista.

You cannot switch from 64 to 32 at the click of a key. It would have to be a complete os installation.

Cheers for that bud. This is why I haven't made the move to Vista as an o/s yet until questions like these are answered. I had no idea that the vista had an XP mode. Although in saying that the compatibility mode in XP when switching to windows 98 or ME didn't help at all when coming across games that didn't work in XP, lol.

As I said in other threads, if you are happy with xp, and you have no reason to upgrade, then dont, stick with somthing thats working. As far as problems with vista, well theres also problems with xp as this forum can attest to. Its normal. I have vista premium installed on one laptop and have had no problems with it.

lol ye. I love my windows! just hate the fact that theres limits on installing onto new/diffrent motherboards, cause then i gotta call in and get it activated. Works wonders, lol and i think i have like 4 diffrent copys of XP, with a collection of win 3.1, 95, 98, me, 2000, XP. Some are just upgrades.
