Call of Duty Error

Im Playing the original call of duty V. 1.3 on my pc, and Ive started the first mission as a russian. The first part of the mission is all listening. Just before I gain control of the character, I get this error...

Tried to blend sound aliases 'shelshock_loop' and 'shellshock_loop_silent', but they do not have the same looping status.

Any help to fix this problem would be appreciated. I cannot advance past this point, because after the error, the game exits me out.

Well that's a pretty impressive PC and shoudl cope with COD pretty easily ... however that particular scene, the rush up the hill is one of the busiest scenes of any game I've ever played.
Try turning down the setting - particularly the audio, just for that scene until you get to the top of the hill.

well, I tried everything, even turning the sound off. Didn't work. I searched online for shellshock_loop, and found someone else with the same problem I had. Turns out if you play alot of online multiplayer, some of the files you download for the multiplayer maps can mess with the single player files. I had to uninstall Call of Duty, and erase all the user files ( besides the save file) and re-install. That fixed the problem. I loaded the save files and started the game up, and have had no problems since.
