Hi all, glad to be back to pester you.
In Internet Properties/Advanced Tab under security there is a choice to check or uncheck the three options: ssl2.0,ssl3.0 and tls1.0. What are these, and while the twoSSL's are checked, the TLS 1.0 is not???
Is this proper?
Would appreciate a response.

(Do I have to change my screen name? I did change it on another page, but it still recognizes me as rgsmile 202.)

Thanks.

A very good question and one I cannot really answer except to speculate. SSL 1, 2, 3 are each revisions to the Secure Socket Layer specification. Each offering improved security online when using things like credit cards, and encrypting passwords and such over an Internet connection, that is, TCP/IP, which is the protocol used to transmit/recieve data over the Internet. I would gather that the reason is because SSL 1 is a rather old specification. Actually, Version 3 is kinda old as well. It was under draft in 1996, and implemented in 1997 if my memory serves me correct. Since it's more or less a dead implementation, I think this is why it isn't checked. I may very well be wrong here though.

Hope this helps.
