If you installed vista and are having problems, be careful searching google and make sure you get the right vista before following any advise you find. I found that solutions vista betas may not work for the released version.

Also, if you use itunes, you may not want to install vista until apple get their act together and release updates. See this (http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/business/16610585.htm)

The only problem I had with Vista when I had it installed was the fact that I could not get my sound to work. I I have a SB Live! 24-bit and the drivers that are on Creative's website, are for build 5234 or something and my build was 6000 which resulted in no sound for me. They still have yet to release build 6000 drivers. Other than that, I have no complaints on Vista.

if the soundcard came with the computer, try downloading and installing the xp drivers from the computers manufacturers site. I had to do that with my laptop sound drivers.

No. My computer is self built. I dont buy computers anymore from places such as Gateway and Dell anymore. Its cheaper and better to just build them myself.
