Faxing from windows office 2000

Hi. I am trying to get my fax to work so i can fax from the computer. Right now i can't fax anything. When i try it says that the fax is not on. When i try to select the properties in the fax management services i get the error message access denied. I would like to know how to get into it to change the settings. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you tell us what sort of modem you have installed?
If you log in as a user with administrative rights can you access the device properties in Fax Management Services?

I have a Best Data 56k v.92/v.44 Internal Modem. How do I log on with administrative rights?
