Can I upgrade from Windows 2000 Pro. to Vista? Also, how does one tell if their hardware will support Vista?

Upgrade Advisor (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx)

Upgrade Paths (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradepaths.mspx)

Only Windows 2000 Professional. It qualifies for purchase of Vista upgrade but requires a clean install of Vista

Upgrading to Windows Vista with a clean install means that you should use Windows Easy Transfer (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/easytransfer.mspx) to automatically copy all your files and settings to an extra hard drive or other storage device, and then install Windows Vista. After the installation is complete, Windows Easy Transfer will reload your files and settings on your upgraded PC. You will then need to reinstall your applications.

Thanks for the reply Murf. The adviser runs on XP and not 2K. The upgrade path link states that I'll need to do an "clean" install backing up all programs and data first. I guess this will be the way to go for me. But, as for now, I think I'll wait a bit before I purchase an upgrade or full version of Vista.
