2 color monitor

Hi People

I have a E770S dell monitor that only displays 2 color schemes either 2 or 16 colors not the 256 it is supposed to is this a driver problem? this in on a dell demension p3 win 98 se plug and play only uses the generic driver. any ideas????

It sounds like your video card driver has gone AWOL. Check Device Manager under Display Adapter for driver problems and/or driver type. You may have to reinstall your display adapter driver.

Right click My Computer, Properties, Device manager tab. Find Display adapters. Double click on it. You should get some information there. Click on the Driver tab and choose Update or Reinstall (I can't remember how its listed in 98) IF the driver is still in windows, then it will or atleast should Install. If it isn't then we will need to know what kind of Video Card you have.

If it is the original Video card that came with your PC, then we will need to know the Model number of your PC. (not the model number listed on the back) we need the model that should be listed on the front of the PC. It should say something like demension 1200 or whatever...
